From Sketch to Product- Sketching is crucial to Anna’s process. Each collection of linocut prints first starts out as a sketch - and then it sits there. For quite some time. She likes to spend ample time with her sketches to be sure of the design before moving forward with a piece.
Once a group of sketch has gone through critique, the colors are selected for the collection. Anna mixes all of her ink colors by hand, and uses color swatches to determine the best colors for each particular piece.
Anna then carves each block by hand using her trusty Flexcut carving tools. This step is the most time consuming of the process
