Back in March, I started watching Abstract: The Art of Design on Netflix. The very first episode features Cristoph Niemann, and he talks about practicing your art every day - Even if you feel uninspired or burnt out. Athletes and musicians practice every day, why shouldn't artists?
That made an enormous impact on me. I found it deeply encouraging and helpful on days when I feel too busy to sit down with my sketchbook or too drained to produce anything "good."
Have I practiced my art every day since? Honestly, no. I haven't. But I definitely have practiced more frequently than I was before, and I feel like that's a win.
So here are a few sketchbook drawings that I have worked on recently. Just for fun.
